The Simpsons Makes Its Debut in Rocket League: But It's Not the Car Fans Are Dreaming Of
It was previously announced that the iconic animated series was teaming up with Fortnite, but this isn't the sole destination where fans can immerse themselves in the world of Springfield. The long-running series is also making its way to Rocket League, introducing an in-game car skin that will also be usable in Fortnite. However, if gamers will actually want to equip it is a different matter, as there's only one Springfield vehicle everyone is itching to get behind the wheel of, and this isn't it.
What Fans Really Want
Although most players would undoubtedly love to face off while driving Homer's custom creation—the famously flawed car the patriarch designed himself in the classic episode "the one where he meets Herb"—regrettably, that isn't what players are receiving. Not even getting the massive SUV, the heavy-duty vehicle showcased in the tenth season. Instead, players will obtain the Simpsons' standard beat-up sedan, which has been in the family since 1989. Even though this particular car has accumulated plenty of miles, it stands as an recognizable element of the show. And for players who pay attention to the game's vehicle dimensions, the trusty sedan uses the identical collision model as the Dominus body type.

More Than Just a Car

As detailed in a press release, the challenges will task participants to "get as many centers and clears as there are the show's seasons, collect boost pickups as if your navigation is set to The Simpsons’ residence, and drive a distance sufficient for acquiring the ideal pastries!"
While the full lineup of challenge rewards hasn't been revealed, here is what's been announced so far:
- Blinky topper
- Homer's hedge-themed banner
- Garbage-themed wheels
- 20,000 XP per challenge
Based on promotional images is a reliable guide, it appears fans will also receive wheels with a television displaying the show's title sequence, Kang and Kodos topper, a sprinkled donut boost trail, and rocket boosts inspired by burning tires and Krusty's famous restaurant.

The Rocket League collaboration coincides with the extensive The Simpsons invasion of Fortnite, which includes a completely new map of Springfield, as well as a 30-day seasonal progression system. The Rocket League x The Simpsons celebration begins on Saturday, Nov. 1 and concludes on November 17th.
